B.Com grad, Mihir Pawar's EV-tech startup gets hundreds of pre-bookings even before launch

Unending traffic, overpopulated cities, and high transportation costs are the problems faced by everyone living in metropolitan areas. But has anyone ever thought the solution to this would be a business model that is sustainable, healthy, and economical? If so, meet Mihir Pawar, a B.Com and LLB graduate from Mumbai who founded a company as a solution where everyone looks for alternatives.

In the busy city of Mumbai, where local trains are the lifeline for daily commuters, Mihir Pawar felt that it was time-consuming and energy-draining. So he decided to experiment with converting his regular bicycle into an electric one. After numerous YouTube videos and consistent effort, he built an EV kit and realized the potential of electric bicycles. He saw an opportunity to simplify the conversion process and make it accessible. This realization prompted him to start Strictly Electric.

EV tech startup, Strictly electric

Strictly Electric is a startup that offers electric conversion kits for bicycles. The core concept of the company was to provide a kit that could seamlessly convert any ordinary bicycle into an electric one by customers themselves in just 20 minutes. What made this concept unique was the simplicity of the conversion process, allowing customers to transform their own bicycles within minutes.

Being a hardware startup, strictly Electric has gone through many hurdles like shortage of capital and running out of goods which resulted in delayed deliveries and canceled orders.

Even though they received support from friends and family, this issue of capital threw the company at risk and threatened its continuation.

Despite all the challenges, Mihir Pawar and his team managed to navigate through the difficulties and continued their journey. Right then, the struggle for capital came to an end, and looking into its potential, Riidl incubated Strictly Electric. Recently, they also received the Startup India seed fund, which provided a much-needed boost to expand their operations. Currently, their new product, EASYKIT version 2, has received hundreds of pre bookings within a week of its introduction. Looking ahead, Strictly Electric aims to expand its product line and introduce more innovative solutions.

When asked about Swipe, Mihir Pawar happily replied, “I have been using Swipe for my company's invoicing needs. The user experience is the amazing part. I love how simple and easy it is for me to use a payment gateway and track my inventory. Swipe lets me do complex tasks in a few seconds.”

As Strictly Electric goes on to offer an accessible and eco-friendly transportation solution, we’re happy to be part of their growth journey. Despite facing initial challenges, their commitment and vision have propelled them forward. Strictly Electric's journey showcases the power of innovation and determination.
