How to Register as a GST Practitioner?

As a Small and Medium Business owner or a Startup Founder in India, it is important to register as a GST Practitioner to ensure smooth and hassle-free filing of your GST returns. Step 2: Registration Process

The registration process for a GST Practitioner is simple and can be done online. The following are the steps to register as a GST Practitioner:

  1. Visit the GST portal and click on the ‘New Registration’ button
  2. Under the ‘I am a’ drop-down, select ‘GST Practitioner’
  3. Enter your basic details such as name, contact details, and PAN number
  4. Upload the necessary documents such as your photograph, proof of identity, and proof of address
  5. Once you have submitted the application, you will receive an acknowledgement number
  6. The application will be verified by the GST authorities and once approved, you will receive your GST Practitioner Certificate

Step 3: Accepting or Rejecting a Request to Act as a GST Practitioner

After registering as a GST Practitioner, you may receive requests from clients to act as their GST Practitioner. The following are the steps to accept or reject a request:

  1. Log in to the GST portal using your GSTIN and password
  2. Click on the ‘Services’ tab and select ‘Authorisation/Withdrawal of Authorisation’
  3. You will see a list of clients who have requested you to act as their GST Practitioner
  4. To accept a request, select the ‘Accept’ option and enter the GSTIN of the client
  5. To reject a request, select the ‘Reject’ option and enter the reason for rejection
