Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana or DDU-GKY

Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) is a rural employment generation program launched by the Government of India in 2014. DDU-GKY Implementation

The implementation of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) is carried out by a partnership between the government, private sector, and civil society organizations. The Ministry of Rural Development is the nodal agency for the implementation of DDU-GKY.

The following are the steps involved in the implementation of DDU-GKY:

1. Project Proposal: The Project Implementing Agencies (PIA) submit project proposals to the Ministry of Rural Development. The proposals are evaluated based on the criteria set by the Ministry.

2. Approval of Project Proposal: Upon approval of the project proposal, the PIA signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Rural Development.

3. Skill Training: The PIA selects the beneficiaries and provides skill training in various sectors such as construction, manufacturing, services, and agriculture, among others. The training is conducted at the DDU-GKY Training Centers or at other institutes approved by the Ministry of Rural Development.

4. Placement: Upon completion of the skill training, the beneficiaries are placed in wage employment with employers in the private sector or in self-employment opportunities.
