- What is E-Invoicing?
  
  E-Invoicing or electronic invoicing is the invoice document exchange between a supplier and a buyer in an integrated electronic format. An electronic invoice is something which should contain data from the supplier in a form that can be entered into the buyer’s Account Payable(AP) system without requiring any data input from the buyer’s AP administrator. Under this approach, an identification number will be issued against every invoice by the Invoice Registration Number (IRP), administered by the GST Network (GSTN). - Documents required for E-Invoicing under GST
  
  The following documents must be uploaded by the taxpayer to the IRP system-
  - Invoice by supplier.
  - Debit note by a supplier.
  - Credit Note by a supplier.
  - Any additional documents mandated by law are to be uploaded to the IRP system by the taxpayer.
- Who needs E-Invoicing?
  
  With E-Invoicing already in place for businesses with a turnover of 50 crores, the current phase will apply to businesses with a turnover of more than 20 crores on April 1, 2022. E-Invoicing will be mandatory for businesses with a turnover of more than 10 crores beginning October 1, 2022. From 1st January 2023, the GST Council may implement the next phase of E-Invoicing for businesses with an annual turnover of more than Rs.5 crore.
