Using the ShaGun portal

A far-reaching endeavor to enhance the school education system is called School Education Shagun (SE Shagun). The project entails building a platform that will serve as a junction for all portals and websites operated by the Ministry of School Education in the Government of India, as well as those of all the States and Union Territories (UTs).

The name "Shagun" is a combination of the words "Shala," which means "schools," and "Gunvatta," which means "quality."

With the intention of capturing and showcasing breakthroughs in the basic sector of education and constantly monitoring the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, the Department developed the "ShaGun" Repository and other online monitoring portals (SSA).

But, it has been decided to use the name "Shagun" because it has captured the attention of many people both in India and beyond.

The features

The SE Shagun platform offers a single point of access to all Department portals and web pages in keeping with the idea of unification in policy intervention. Via this platform, you can obtain pertinent data relating to more than 1.5 million schools, 9 million teachers, and 250 million pupils. By browsing this website, one can also discover about the programs and their thorough monitoring, see how the outcomes are determined with the aid of an impartial evaluation procedure, and take note of the best teaching techniques used in schools around the nation.

Monitoring System

The UDISE+ system is used to gather real-time data from every school as part of an efficient monitoring system. The public is given access to comprehensive geographic, topographical, and other crucial information about the schools thanks to the School GIS system. The system has a feedback mechanism that enables users to report data inconsistencies. The Third Party Verification App allows for cross-checking of UDISE+ school-specific data.

The Data Analytics website organizes the data such that it may be used for analysis and decision-making that is supported by facts.

The PMS online tracking system keeps tabs on the projects' physical development as well as the money flowing to and being spent by the States and UTs. The Shagun internet monitoring system gathers data on a number of macro characteristics related to the State and UT school systems. The Central, State, and UT Government officials are the only people who have access to such portals.

The Dashboard provides a quick glance at the Key Performance Indicators in the State/UT and All India levels of education. It also gives a bird's eye view of the policies put in place and the key characteristics of the institutions that fall under this Department's administrative jurisdiction.

Measuring Results of the scheme

An automatic system called the Performance Grading Index (PGI) assigns ratings to the States and UTs based on 70 indicators. Likewise, districts and particular government schools must be included. All three components will be graded on an annual basis.
