For split payments through invoices, the accounting software debits various assets but credits only one account which is that of sales and taxes.

Cash accounting journal entry: Cash payment will go directly into the "Cash in Hand" account.
UPI/Bank account accounting Journal Entry: For digital payments through UPI, the payment is made to the primary bank account ledger or bank clearing account ledger.
Settlement through card: Payments through cards go into the "Clearing Card Account" until the acquiring bank settles down the money into the company’s bank account (except transaction fees through gateway).
