Filing Procedure Of Form FC-GPR

All Indian corporations seeking Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) are required by the provisions of Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) regulations to submit Form FC-GPR which stands for foreign currency gross provisional return. This document is useful to foreign investors to record the funds which were expended in buying the shares and other securities issued to them. Step 6: Attach Required Documents

Please submit the following important documents:

KYC report of the foreign investor with an overseas bank.

Board Resolution for the share’s issuance.

FIRC (Foreign Inward Remittance Certificate) from banks confirming the receipt of funds.

Any other document related to the transaction may be needed by RBI.

Step 7: Submit and Track the Filing

Before proceeding, ensure that every given detail and attached record is accurate and authentic.

After this, the fill-out form must be submitted to an Official Dealer (AD) bank which will review and operate that form before it is sent to the RBI.

Watch the progress of your application through the FIRM portal and check whether the AD bank and the RBI have made further requests for information.

Step 8: RBI Approval and Confirmation

The filing will be completed by RBI after the AD bank makes the approval and review. The status on the FIRMS portal will be changed to ‘accepted’ thus, indicating adherence with the FDI and sectoral caps.
